Full Moon Party at Koh Phi Phi
The full moon party on Phi Phi celebrates youth, regeneration and the start of the new Lunar cycle. The beach bars and the ‘Phi Phi Party Crew’ celebrate on Phi Phi while many slide over to the full moon party on Haad Rin Koh Phangan.
The full moon party happens once a month following the Luna cycles and this is the time of huge parties across Thailand. The Koh Phangan full moon party is such a magnet to travellers in Phi Phi Island, that large numbers of them take the ferry over to Krabi, then take the bus to Surat Thani and then the ferry to Koh Samui. From here they get the ferry from Big Buddha Pier to Haad Rin West. (this can be done by purchasing a ‘Joint Ticket’ and purchased at an travel agent like Siam UK Travel and Tours). Haad Rin West is one beach at Haad Rin and a walk through of just 500 meters gets you to Haad Rin East side, the home of the Full Moon Party and the Drop In Bar, the Cactus Bar, the Vinyl Club and more. As the sun rises up out of the Gulf of Thailand it lights up the beach in a majestic glow.
